Sophie Garratt

Sophie specialises in finely detailed drawings using both lead and watercolour pencil. Focussing on the still lives and close up aspects of Scilly's scenery rather than sweeping landscapes, her work offers an alternative perspective of the beautiful Scillonian environment, wildlife and traditional boatcraft of the islands. Both her black & white pencil drawings and watercolour pencil work demonstrate the magnificent clarity of light and colour that Scilly is unique for.

Quiet corners of the off islands, beautiful sea worn mooring posts, traditional pilot gigs, as well as close up still life studies of the native flowers and shells have been the subjects of her potfolio so far, check out 'recent work' to see her current projects, latest commissions and future plans.
