About Us
SOPHIE GARRATT
After living for years on St. Mary's,
the largest of the Isles of Scilly, Sophie
now lives on the tiny island of Bryher.
She graduated with a degree in
Anthropology and Art History in 2002
whilst always continuing with her
main interest of illustration.
Her work is inspired by the scenery and
the wildlife on Scilly. The accurate nature
of her work directs her towards close up glimpses of the distinctive
scenery, local traditional boat craft as well as finely detailed still lives
of the native shells and flowers.
SARAH GARRATT
Growing up on the Isles of Scilly, Sarah always concentrated on art,
in particular painting. From graduating at Manchester College of Art,
lecturing in Falmouth Art School to the present day where she is head
of art at the Islands' secondary school.
Her most recent work using watercolour focusses on still lives of beach finds
on Scilly's shores, including driftwood, shells, beads, broken pottery and beautiful pieces of sea-worn glass.
